SARSAYA Oyster Sauce celebrated its success of being the 3rd leading brand in the oyster sauce category in just a few months after it has been launched. And as part of its celebration, members of media and bloggers were invited to an exclusive #kaSARSAyan Filipino Food Walking Tour featuring local street food and carinderia favorites at the beautiful Las Casas Filipinas Acuzar in Quezon City.
It was a fun and enlightening food tour as we sampled traditional street food like fishballs, squidballs, pancit habhab served on banana leaves and carinderia-style adobo with SARSAYA oyster sauce. The food captain that day was Ige Ramos, president of the Culinary Historians of the Philippines. He was tireless despite the warm weather and was exuberant as he explained the origins of each of the food on each carts where we passed through.
After the food tour, we were then again treated to a delicious feast for lunch served by Las Casas.
The program host Ms. Trixia Adre did not wait long to make the day more livelier as our bellies got heavier. Trivia questions were thrown to the guests and they gave cute Ajinomoto cookbooks and limited edition books written by none other than our food captain that day.
Senior Brand Assistant Rhenz Villanueva also took the stage to answer questions from the guests.
“Bakit di nakabote ang SARSAYA?” – Because market research showed that buyers find bottled products heavier. Packaging of SARSAYA is more practical and mas madaling simutin.
“Why the title SARSAYA?” – It came from two words, SARSA and SAYA
“Why use Oyster sauce rather than soy sauce “toyo”? = Because soy sauce only gives salty flavor while oyster sauce gives more “linamnam” on dishes.
“What’s SARSAYA Oyster Sauce nutrient content?” = SARSAYA make dishes flavorful even vegetables. Mas masarap kumain ang mga kids ng gulay because of SARSAYA.
Then the most awaited time came when Coco Martin showed himself and charmed everyone of us with his dashing smile. He took the stage and shared stories from the set of his most recent brand commercial. In it, Coco shows his trademark smile as he chimes the catchy jingle, “Lasang Oyster na Oyster, SARSAYA! Coco said “kung sya daw ay ulam, sya ay adobo dahil habang tumatagal, sumasarap.”
