Unlike many people that I know of, I didn’t grow up with a mother. But I firmly believe that God always gives people like me their own “guardian angels” even though they think they don’t have one. For me, these angels came in the form of loving relatives, friends, and eventually my husband.
Because of God’s goodness to me, I’ve always hoped that I’d be able to reciprocate that love by being good, kind, and generous in the best way I can to others. And that I hope to teach my daughters as well.
Teaching kindness is not a difficult lesson to teach, but it can definitely be a struggle to keep. With the different challenges that we face in our lives, sometimes it’s easier to just always look after ourselves first and then others. But when I became a mom, I learned three important lessons about kindness that I think every people must keep in order to keep the cycle of goodness not only in the family but for everyone, generally.
Be Kind To The Past
Being kind to everything that is related to our past, our histories, and people who have already aged will make us respectful of what has been accomplished. By doing this, we can always be open to the lessons that the past is giving us and make better people than the previous generation.
Be Kind To The Present
How to be kind in the present days? There are a thousand ways – be kind to yourself by taking care of it, by working hard and enjoying your rewards, and being kind to others by sharing God-given talents. Giving money is not always the best form of kindness, but compassion.
Be Kind To The Future
As a parent, this speaks mostly about loving your family that much that you plan and do something to let your love live on. Whether you think you are already financially secured or not, it’s important to plan the family’s future through legacy planning.
I never thought I’ll be that person who will be that selfless enough to think of others that much but being a mom can really transform you. It urged me to take definite steps to secure my daughter’s future through a life insurance plan that will serve as my lasting legacy.
I’ve read about AIA Philam Life’s AIA All-In-One 5/10 Year Pay that is really recommendable (life insurance benefit for your loved ones of up to 5x the amount you paid, 2x if death is due to an accident, pay for either 5 or 10 years, cash benefits in case of accident, disability, or critical illness (cancer, stroke, heart attack) and last year of premium payments is free.

There are so many more life lessons that I wish to share with my daughters but this one about kindness is my favorite. As Cinderella’s mom told her in the movie – “whenever you have to choose, always choose kindness”.
When you are kind to the world, the world will be kinder to you.
