All moms are supermoms, but there are always those little organizational details and tricks to go through the eventful day easier. No journey starts out trouble-free so give yourself time to work out and get into the habit of doing things the way you find is best for you and your precious family.
Work without guilt
It does not matter whether you work at home or in the office because you will simply have to have and bare time and space away from your kids. It might be difficult to separate from them at first, but it will get easier in time, especially when you realize how important your income is for your whole family and of course, the joy of being reunited with children again after a long working day. If you have to leave home for work, and even if you just need to spend time in another room and there is no one in your family who could look after the kids during that time, your best choices are hiring a trustworthy nanny or enrolling kids in a day care. Carefully decide which option suits you and kids the best and do your research before making a final call.
Enjoy your time with kids
Before and after work or day care is the time to relax and recharge on happiness while spending quality time with your children. Do not treat this as another obligation because it will only stress you out and children will notice. Let go of all the worries and devote yourself to playing and talking with your kids. It is very important for them to know that their mom is there for them and they will be rejoiced to be with you and listen to you attentively when there are some more serious things to discuss. We all feel sluggish and stressed from time to time but allow your kids to calm you down and your relationship will only get better.
Stick to the schedule
Make sure to follow the schedule, especially when it comes to your kids’ bedtime. When children are asleep, take that extra time to prepare everything for the next morning – making meals and putting out clothing that you and kids will wear to avoid unnecessary rush in the morning for example. Still, if you believe that breakfast should be served completely fresh, invest in some useful kitchen appliances such as blenders, toasters, sandwich makers, etc. that would help you prepare the morning meal as quickly as possible. What’s more, if you stick to the schedule, you will always be able to spend some nice alone time with your husband as well.
Do not push yourself and your kids too hard
It is perfectly fine to want success for both you and your kids but it is essential to realize that absolute perfection does not guarantee happiness especially since it is not possible. It is necessary to teach your kids to have and value their own goals like you should too, but no one expects you to be the best at everything so do not push that burden onto your kids either.
By being a working mom you will have two jobs – a day desk job and a full-time all the time mom job. Believe in yourself and be a person you would want your children to look up to. When you feel contented with yourself, to-do lists, working, cooking and other daily activities will become an easily manageable routine.
