Delgado is a tertiary hospital and can provide a wide range of clinical specialties ( from internal medicine to dentistry) but unique to other hospitals, within the hospital is a special unit designed specifically for soon-to-be-moms. It’s called the First Time Mom Unit. Not to be mistaken as the regular type of clinic where pregnant women go to consult with OB-GYNs, the First Time Mom Unit works as a training place for soon-to-be first-time mothers and even for pregnant women who wish for Optimal Birth Outcome which is a widely supported advocacy internationally. It’s main goal is to ensure the mother and baby’s over all health from the time of conception until they are ready to go home.

Dr. Rolando Balburias, President and General Manager of Dr. Jesus C. Delgado spearheaded the creation of First Time Mom Unit to equip the first persons who need help the most when it comes to pregnancy. They are the future first-time parents who are mostly nervous and dependent on friends and relatives’ opinions. With the line-up of workshops and seminars for members of First Time Mom unit, parents will be more confident and properly educated by experts in the field, and thus will be able to make better decisions and plan the best for their baby.
