M2 Tea Drink (Malunggay, Okra, Luya Concentrate) – A Refreshing and Yes, Delicious Vegetable Tea Drink

Posted on by

Though some of us may still prefer coffee most of the time, a tea drink is still our best choice no matter what the weather or season is. We can help ourselves or serve a good tasting tea drink any time of the day, with or without a snack to pair it with.

But more important than all of these, is the fact that there are many research studies which shows how tea can be beneficial to our health.

Recently, we tried this long-existing tea drink M2 Tea Drink made by Nature Earth Corp. and was glad to have discovered it. It’s a ready-to-drink tea which can be consumed hot or cold. From its name, the tea is made of Malunggay, Okra, and Luya concentrate which are all known for their health efficacy. Malunggay is widely popular to increase breastmilk production for lactating moms. Okra on the other hand has potassium, vitamin B, vitamin C, folic acid, and calcium, and being cited as beneficial in managing sugar level in the body. Luya or ginger, in which our favorite salabat is made of, is proven effective in soothing sore throat, helps us relax and relieves digestive problems. Combine these three vegetables and we certainly have a powerful concoction.

First and foremost, the taste. Unlike other health drinks, herbal drinks too, M2 is refreshing and sweet (not-too-sweet), and you can drink it as it is, without adding sugar. The recipe on the bottle suggested adding lemon to give the drink a citrus taste but without it, the drink tastes perfect. It’s made with muscovado sugar, that’s why so it has a hint of “arnibal” flavor. If you like this kind of flavor, we are certain you’ll like this drink. Even kids will like it too and you won’t have to worry with any after-taste or bitterness or “pakla” which some vegetable/health drinks have.

M2 drink is being served in easy-to-carry bottles, plastic though, 300ml and 1000ml bottles. You have to refrigerate it once you open. The 300 ml can easily be consumed in one drinking because it’s light and refreshing.

Just this July, 2017, Nature Earth has tapped ANDOK’s to bring M2 to every Filipino. “M2 has been in the country for almost seven years now but has always been served in bazaars and to lactating mothers who are grateful for its increasing breastmilk production. M2 is truly a Filipino homegrown product that we want to make available nationwide,” says Zonito Torrevillas-Tamase, President/co-owner of Natureearth.

“At ANDOKS’s we believe that we can give consumers a healthier option as well as empower Filipino farmers who use only fresh vegetables that M2 uses.” Zonito says M2 contains phytonutrients such as iron, calcium, potassium and beta-carotene which come from malunggay, okra and luya. The taste surprises everyone who think that vegetables don’t taste good as an ice tea.

The development of M2 has been assisted by DOST through its R&D and @SET-UP programs. M2 is also FDA-CPR registered and HALAL Certified.

Jojo Tamase, CEO/co-owner/ declares that the efficacy of M2 as a nutritious drink was confirmed when a test conducted by Dr. Bernabe Castillo M.D of Maria Clara Health Center, Barangay Hagdan Bato Libis Mandaluyong that among lactating mothers, 8 out 10 mothers increased their production of breastmilk, relieved constipation, both mother and baby did not get sick within the span of testing, as well as mother experience healthier skin when given M2.

M2 is also good for kids, the sports- minded, and everyone who misses their daily vegetable intake.

M2 is also available in Robinsons Supermarket, Selected SM Hypermarkets and SM Supermarket as well as in ALLDAY, ALTURA, CSI Pangasinan, High-Top, Landmark and RSC Supermarket.
