Metro is set to inform, involve, and recharge moms with a Mother’s Day event dubbed “Metro MomCon,” a one-day gathering to inspire them to live their best lives despite the pandemic happening this Saturday (May 15).
The free event will take place on Zoom, and will cover panel discussions and workshops on parenting, food, home and living, relationships, and beauty.
Here are five things to learn from the first-ever “Metro MomCon”:
Do you want to create healthy guiltless boundaries, protect your space, and maintain self-love, while being an amazing mom to your kids? Join this panel discussion to be hosted by Metro editor-in-chief Geolette Esguerra and led by one of the country’s leading experts in personal development and well-being, Dr. Lia Bernardo. The event will also feature celebrity moms Andi Manzano, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Jodi Sta. Maria, Mikaela Lagdameo-Martinez, and Sofia Andres.
Together with invited mommy bloggers and influencers, learn how to prepare Japanese dishes for 4-5 people in this interactive online cooking workshop with Chef Him Uy de Baron of Himpossible Recipes. The workshop will be hosted by Lexi Schulze.
Are you looking for new ways to make your celebrations at home even more special? Get inspiration and tips from Happy Ongpauco as she shares her expertise in design, table-setting, and occasion planning.
Learn straight from the beauty experts to glam up for your Zoom meetings, virtual gatherings, and home celebrations. Everything is covered from makeup with Albert Kurniawan, hairstyling with Lourd Ramos to haircare with Dr. RisaCaldoza-de Leon and Dr. Cecilia Catapang. Janeena Chan leads this workshop as its host.
How do you keep things exciting in the bedroom? This very juicy and relevant session will cover everything you’ve always wanted to know about getting intimate during these times—over cocktails. Join the discussion with host Delamar Arias and sex and relationships therapist Rica Cruz and create your own cocktails with free kits from Served Manila.
While moms immerse themselves in the exciting discussions, their kids can also take part in various workshops, including PETA’s Children’s Theater Sneak Peek (for kids ages 7–12; free for the first 30 registrants), OneTwoStepHipHop Dance Workshop for Kids (ages 4–7 and 8–11; free for the first 30 registrants for each age group), and WIKA’Y GALING! Filipino Workshop for the Family (for kids ages 6–10).
