“It does not matter much where you live. It only matters how well you live when you are there.” -Unknown
Modern living is characterized by homeowners opting to reside in tall skyscrapers and high-rises in the middle of a bustling city.
In this way, they get to be at the heart of everything. Indeed, condominium living has afforded homeowners many conveniences that are otherwise absent in a more typical residential house and lot setting. That said, it is inevitable for more and more Filipinos who are currently living in the city to prefer living in condos rather than in subdivisions and villages.
Whether you are single, a young couple just starting out, a family with growing children, or even an older couple well into retirement, you will find that condo living has benefits that far outweigh traditional residential community life. So, if you have been choosing between making the move to a condo development at The Galleon Ortigas or a typical residential setting such as Shang Residences at Wack Wack, you may want to know what makes condo living so great.
Below are just some of the compelling perks that make living in a condo enticing to new homeowners:
1.) Living closer to work
An excellent reason why prospective homeowners choose to live in condos is the option to live closer to their workplace. As a result, they can avoid the stress and fatigue of traveling to and from work. More importantly, they save money on gas and get to spend more time with their families. If you live in proximity to your workplace, you may opt to bike or walk to your office instead of driving your car. The latter would mean spending on gas, parking, maintenance, and insurance costs which would significantly cut down your expenses.
2.) Nearness to goods and services
Another perk about condo living is having goods and services nearby. One of the main draws of condo living is that most developments are situated in proximity to grocery stores, malls, coffee shops, and restaurants—all of which will be a few minutes away from where you live. Some of these establishments may even just be downstairs from you, or just in the next block. In this way, you will be able to shop for groceries, get take-outs from restaurants and do important errands, and even meet friends easily and conveniently.
3.) Sports and lifestyle amenities
Condo communities typically have several types of amenities to which homeowners have access. What makes these amenities so great is that they no longer require separate memberships to use nor does it require one to travel long distances to visit. Modern upscale high-rise neighborhoods already come fully equipped with workout gyms, badminton and tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds, and even swimming pools.
Also, most condominium developments have clubhouses and function rooms where you can hold parties and special activities. Some even come with karaoke rooms where you can sing your heart out without bothering your neighbors. Access to these amenities however would require a rental fee which is typically managed and coordinated by the condo management staff.
4.) Safety and security
When it comes to residential living, our safety and welfare should be paramount. That said, condo managements consider the safety and welfare of their condo owners and tenants of utmost importance. The lobby staff and the association staff are responsible for coordinating rules and regulations within the condominium complex. Also, it is worth noting that almost every nook and cranny in your condo is manned by security personnel and monitored by CCTV such as entrances, parking, and other access areas. In this way, homeowners can ask for CCTV footage should they need any help in resolving incidents of unauthorized entry, theft, or any other untoward occurrences.
5.) They feel like residential resorts
While this largely depends on the condo development you choose, most modern condo developments in the city have designed and developed their projects in a way that gives the general surroundings a resort vibe. As a result, condo dwellers typically feel like they are living in a hotel setting where it is a vacation every day.
Just some of the things condo owners can enjoy are wide open spaces, pocket parks, jogging trails, yoga, and meditation areas. One recurring theme in urban residential developments is the feeling of being able to get away from it all without stepping out of your neighborhood. More importantly, it allows you access to a sanctuary that gives you room to relax, unwind and get out in the open. For condo dwellers, this can come in useful—especially during the holidays and long weekends when they do not have to leave just to get that much-needed staycation.
While I really enjoy owning our own home, I do miss some things about living in condos/apartments. We lived one place in college that had racquetball courts and we were there all the time. And having a community pool is nice, too.
Yay this is great . Very informative and vwry helpful lalo na sa mga mag condo . Thank you for sharing this ❤️
Thank you for sharing this beautiful place ..super pangarap ko tumira sa ganitong klasing kapaligiran..very safe
Being near goods and services is crucial for me. Love my condo living!
I totally agree with you there. I personally live in a condo and it is the best decision I made!
I can definitely see how living in a condo would be far more convenient than a single family home. The groundskeeping alone would take a ton of time away from our busy schedule.
I think owning a condo is a good investment. It is like a little community in itself with great amenities to boot. Most of my nieces and nephews live in condos near their work place. However, I still prefer to live in a single storey house with a little yard.
I love the Sports and lifestyle amenities of condo units. It saves me money since I don’t have to go to the gym.
This is interesting, and it’s good living close to work. You don’t need to struggle to go to work.
I like high rise living. However, there are downsides… condo owners being able to make you leave for whatever, on their timeline or coming in the house all of the time (our experience). Seems like there was always a reason to come in… monthly pest control (needed), fire extinguisher checks, sprinkler checks, annual checks, air filter, mold check, so much…. it seemed not private that so many people could come in and out of our place. There were a lot of pros though, too.
WE lived in a condo before we got married and LOVED it!
Condo living suit my lifestyle at the moment. Great tips for when I am looking to buy.
Condos are such a great way to go. I would love to avoid all the work that has gone into living in a single family home.
i haven’t lived in a condo before but ive thought about it before as there are great perks indeed. this has great information.
