As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, SM Supermalls is rallying communities to donate books and promote literacy through the SM Book Nook Book Donation Drive. The initiative, launched in partnership with the National Library of the Philippines, encourages mallgoers to drop off pre-loved books in designated donation areas across all SM malls nationwide starting July 7, 2025.
SM Book Nook Donation Drive Brings Communities Together Through the Power of Reading
With the theme “Under the Same Sky: Share the Magic of Stories,” the campaign aims to collect 40,000 books that will benefit children, families, and readers across the country. These donations will support public libraries and the continued expansion of SM Book Nook hubs in malls and partner institutions.
How the Book Drive Works
Each SM mall will house official donation stations, where mallgoers can drop off books that are:
- Complete and intact
- Clean and dry
- Free from major damage
Accepted materials include:
- Children’s books and young adult novels
- Fiction and nonfiction
- Reference and academic books
- Magazines and comics in good condition
