Naturland Brings European Organic Movement to Filipino Tables

Naturland Brings European Organic Movement to Filipino Tables

Healthy eating and sustainable living are becoming priorities for Filipino families. This year, Naturland e.V., one of the world’s largest organic farming associations, launched a new campaign to make organic food more accessible in the Philippines.

During EU Organic Day, Naturland introduced “European Organic: Nurturing Every Juan,” a three-year awareness program in partnership with the European Union. The campaign aims to educate Filipinos about the value of organic agriculture while making healthier food choices more attainable.

A Movement for Healthier Choices

The launch at Grace Park Dining by chef Margarita Fores showcased dishes made with EU-certified organic products—highlighting the quality, care, and standards behind every organic meal.

Recent studies show that Filipino consumers are ready for this shift:

  • 67% consider nutrition a top factor in food choices (PwC 2025)
  • 99% want mindful eating habits (Food Industry Asia)

Naturland sees this as the perfect time to push for organic adoption.

What Makes Food Truly Organic?

During the event, experts explained how organic products earn certification under strict EU standards, which include:

  • No genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
  • Minimal use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides
  • 100% organic feed for animals
  • Natural methods to maintain soil and plant health

Products that meet these standards carry the EU organic logo—a trusted sign for both businesses and consumers.

Beyond these requirements, Naturland goes further by promoting fair employment, human rights, and better working conditions across the supply chain. This ensures that organic isn’t just about healthier food, but also about ethical and sustainable farming.

Organic for Every Juan

“Organic is not just a label—it’s a promise of integrity, transparency, and sustainability,” shared Marco Schlüter, Managing Director for Strategy and International Affairs at Naturland e.V. “We want to make organic food a natural part of everyday life in the Philippines.”

Over the next three years, the campaign will:

  • Roll out consumer education programs
  • Partner with local businesses and trade groups
  • Build awareness about the benefits of organic food for families and communities

Filipinos are invited to join the movement through the European Organic for Every Juan Facebook page.
