Department of Migrant Workers and TP Strengthen Reintegration Programs for Returning OFWs

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and TP (formerly known as Teleperformance) have joined forces to help returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) rebuild their lives. The partnership focuses on compassion, inclusivity, and community support, particularly for survivors of illegal recruitment and human trafficking.

A Partnership Built on Protection and Opportunity

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was recently signed at the DMW National Office in Mandaluyong City by TP Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson and DMW Assistant Secretary Jerome Alcantara, alongside DMW leaders and TP executives.

The agreement aims to establish a holistic, gender-responsive reintegration program that provides not only economic opportunities but also social, cultural, and psychological support. By combining the DMW’s expertise in migrant protection with TP’s global reputation in digital business services, the initiative ensures that returning OFWs can access sustainable pathways for recovery and growth.

What the Reintegration Program Includes

Within the MOA’s framework, TP will provide:

  • Job readiness modules to prepare returning workers for employment
  • Recruitment support and consideration for local job opportunities
  • Free pre-employment upskilling and training aligned with hiring standards
  • Awareness campaigns against illegal recruitment and human trafficking
  • Fair labor conditions, including non-discrimination and access to social protection

Meanwhile, the DMW will identify and endorse eligible OFWs, particularly those affected by trafficking and illegal recruitment, to TP for training and employment support.

Restoring Dignity and Building Futures

“The DMW is steadfast in its mandate to protect and serve our modern-day heroes, but we know the government cannot do this alone,” said Asst. Sec. Alcantara. “Reintegration is not just about providing jobs; it’s about restoring dignity, rebuilding lives, and offering sustainable pathways for OFWs returning home with hopes of starting anew.”

Jeffrey Johnson of TP emphasized the organization’s commitment: “This partnership goes beyond economic growth; it is about compassion, inclusivity, and community. It is our way of telling every OFW: you are not alone, and you will never be forgotten.”

The partnership also supports the government’s labor welfare efforts and reinforces TP’s ongoing recognition as a Great Place to Work®-certified organization.
