15 Years of Inspiring Young Innovators: Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow Returns to the Philippines in 2025

Every mom knows that our kids’ creativity can sometimes surprise us. From simple science projects at home to their wild “what if” questions, we often see how much potential they have to think differently and dream big. This is exactly what Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow celebrates—empowering students to use technology and innovation to solve real problems in their communities.

A Global Program That Builds Next-Gen Heroes

Since its launch in 2010, Solve for Tomorrow has grown into a global platform that has inspired thousands of students to think boldly, work together, and turn ideas into action. Now celebrating its 15th year worldwide, the program is once again returning to the Philippines this 2025—its third year here in our country.

Backed by the Department of Education (DepEd), the program is open to Grades 8 to 10 students from government Science High Schools nationwide. With more than Php 2 million worth of prizes in cash and Samsung devices, it’s not just about the reward—it’s about inspiring young Filipinos to see themselves as innovators who can make a difference.

Themes That Matter to Families

What makes this competition meaningful is that it focuses on challenges that matter to communities, families, and the environment. This year, the themes include:

  • Environmental Sustainability through Technology – Finding ways to reuse, recycle, and regenerate for a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
  • Social Change through Tech and Sport – Encouraging inclusivity, education, and opportunity through the power of sports and technology.
  • Solving Community Problems with AI – Using artificial intelligence to address real-world issues in local communities.

As moms, these themes speak to us too. We want our kids to grow up caring about the world around them, not just excelling in school. Seeing students tackle issues like sustainability and social change reminds us that their voices and ideas matter.

How to Join

Each team will be made up of up to four students and one teacher-adviser. Together, they will submit a proposal—either a short paper (up to 7 pages) or a 5-slide presentation. Submissions are due on October 26, 2025.

From there, the top 10 teams will be mentored by Samsung representatives, helping them refine their solutions before presenting to a panel of judges. Winners will be announced in December, with the Grand Prize including cash and Samsung devices worth over Php 500,000 for the school and team.

Why This Inspires Us as Moms

For many of us, parenting isn’t just about making sure our kids do well in their exams—it’s also about encouraging them to use their gifts to create impact. Programs like Solve for Tomorrow remind us that innovation is not only for tech experts or adults. Even our teenagers can think of creative solutions that can inspire whole communities.

Who knows? That child who once asked you “Why can’t we recycle plastic into clothes?” might just be the one to create the next big sustainability project through opportunities like this.

Building a Brighter Tomorrow

At its heart, Solve for Tomorrow is about raising the next generation of leaders—kids who will dream, innovate, and give back. With the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) this year, students are encouraged to take one step closer to the future, proving that young Filipinos are ready to lead the way.
