Mommy Bloggers Are Not Perfect And We Dig It

Nobody’s perfect in this world. Angelina Jolie is not perfect. She had her boobs removed because she thinks they might make her sick. But we love her all the more not only because she was brave enough to tell the world that now her books are fake but also because she is a loving mom to several kids she adopted from around the world. Philippines have their own version of Angelina Jolie’s too. Maybe we can name Kris Aquino and Sharon Cuneta to name some of them, and we all know how their roller coaster lives make them two of the most beloved celebrities of the country of all times. Or maybe the most popular families gracing all magazine covers and tv commercials Team Kramer and Villaroel family. They all have their own flaws which may not be visible but we all know are there because they are all “human beings” like us.

Mommy bloggers including those who are being followed by thousands are not different. They are all but the same normal people like everyone of us who gets angry with petty things when they are moody. They also have these periods when they shout at their kids when the little ones get whiny. Some of them don’t have money because before you earn through blogging, you’ll need years to gain following and get sponsors. Mommy bloggers also get insecure most of the time over other mommy’s look, dress, events the other mommies get to attend, or the giveaways they don’t receive as compared to other bloggers. The list of normal issues which all mothers experience and feel, blogger or not, is endless.

We are not perfect and so are our lives. If we have made you think otherwise, we suggest that you pause or if you can, stop on those thoughts. If you know us close enough, if you are a friend or a relative, a neighbor, our child’s classmate’s parent, we tell you now that our lives may not be different from you or maybe worse. If you are a blog follower, a subscriber, a blog hopper, a co-blogger, we appreciate your support and thank you for being able to relate with us and maybe buy the products that we blog about.

One thing is for sure, for a popular mommy blogger or a newbie one, we don’t write our thoughts 24 hours a day. Nobody can do that. Writing for maybe two to four hours straight will be exhausting. That means we still have 15 to 20 hours or more living our normal lives which may be better, the same or far worse than yours. But when we write, we write responsibly because we are moms and what we share should build personalities, families and communities. We also have our own styles of writing. Most of us write with advertisements, some of us write for advocacy, while the rest write for entertainment and for family history. And we choose all of these. We edit with a purpose and as moms, these are mostly good purposes.

If you think you have enough of reading mommy bloggers’ blogs, then feel free to go on hiatus. Find your confidence and satisfaction. Talk to your hubby, a friend or your children. Make time for prayers and self-reflection. Maybe these are what you need to feel positive about mommies who live an almost-perfect life (which as we pointed out only occurs in your mind). And when you miss us, our blogs are still here or maybe a new mommy blog will make you interested. Or better yet, try blogging too. Who knows, in time, you are writing your own stories, your own experiences, your own mommy blog.

This is a good post. I am a stay at home mom and a newbie in the blogging world. I guess no one really is perfect. When it comes to blogging I am more of what post to write despite me having some thoughts in my mind. But with this post thank you cause kahit papaano I am encouraged to do my best and since I found a group of mommies who shares their thoughts and feelings I know I am not alone in this journey of motherhood and in blogging. Thank you again.

sabi nga nila pag sikat na maraming bashers, hehe..seriously, we are indeed not perfect. As a blogger, I just want to share my personal experiences as a wife, mother, and friend. Online journal ko na din, especially for my baby’s milestones. I will always tell this to my readers and friends, I am a proud member of Mommy Bloggers Philippines. yun na!♥♥♥

a lot of mommy bloggers tend to be an indefatigable lot – full of tips, stories, advice, product reviews, event experience and what-have-you, so yeah, minsan nakaka-insecure talaga, ha ha! because the posts of those moms show that it’s a FACT that there’s a lot more that I could be doing for my kids that I’m not able to. but it’s up to us readers, I guess, whether we will choose to be intimidated, or inspired. I may not be able to do all the things that I see other moms do, but we’re all in the same boat in the sense that we are all trying to be the best mom that we can be for our kids. I am choosing to be inspired (that’s why I’m trying to get back into blogging in the first place, hi hi).
