Hanabish joins the GMA Kapuso Foundation in helping rebuild schools devastated by the magnitude 7.2 earthquake that hit Bohol in 2013. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), more than 73,000 structures were damaged by the calamity— 14,500 of which were completely destroyed.
Following the recent release of a certification that it is already safe to build infrastructures in Bohol, GMA Kapuso Foundation and Hanabishi are set to begin rebuilding the school and conducting other post-rehabilitation efforts this year. Through the renewed partnership, Hanabishi commits to provide Php 1M worth of appliances including electric fans and water dispensers for the 24-classroom school that the GMA Kapuso Foundation will be building in Bohol.
GMA Kapuso Foundation Executive Vice President Mel Tiangco shares, “Hanabishi has been our partner since 2012 and they play a very significant part in the success of our projects. They are always on hand to help us and to give more to the people. They are already like family to us here in the foundation.”
In the span of their 4-year partnership with the GMA Kapuso Foundation, Hanabishi has already provided complete sets of home appliances for 200 houses in the Kapuso Village in Iligan and 600 houses in Leyte and Tacloban.

The partnership of Hanabishi with GMA Kapuso Foundation is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility program which extends support to impoverished and calamity-stricken communities in different parts of the country.
