A Joy-ful Friday with Free Chicken McMcMcDo

Posted on by

“Joys” of all ages enjoyed a special treat from McDonalds Philippines during the first ever Chicken McDo Day held last April 22.

To celebrate this joyful day, everyone named “Joy” or any of its variations (Joi,” “Joyce,” “Joice,” and “Joyann”) were treated to McDonald’s best-tasting Chicken McDo for free. What’s more, each Joy was allowed to bring one companion who also received a free 1pc Chicken McDo with Rice as they dined and bonded at McDonald’s.

A long Joy-ful line outside a McDonald's store small

A joyous atmosphere was present in close to 30 participating stores across Metro Manila as thousands of Joys happily savored the new and improved Chicken McDo made juicier and tastier with just the right crunch.  Marinated, breaded, and fried to a golden perfection, the Chicken McDo makes every dining moment satisfying. Always served hot and fresh, the Chicken McDo is best paired either with the World Famous Fries, Corn Cup, or the new Creamy Mushroom Soup, and a regular drink.

Chicken McDo’s moderately flaky and crisp coating fully covers the chicken that gives everyone an unforgettable crunch in every bite. The tender and juicy meat that is firmly balanced with salt and a savory flavor also makes it a real joy to eat at any time of the day.

Given only 48 hours to drive awareness for #PaChickenMcDoforJoy, McDonald’s saw impressive numbers on social—two million total interactions on Facebook and 200,000 total interactions on Twitter. The total earned mentions for Chicken McDO increased 12,000 percent compared to daily average. Several hashtags related to McDonald’s trended organically as the event was ongoing such as #PaChickenMcDoforJoy.

Such a nice way to treat patrons and possible customers- giving them importance and recognition. I hope they could think of more promotional gimmicks or perhaps also give free mcdo meal to peeps with the name “berlin.” Ihihi

That moment I wish my name has Joy on it! Hahaha! But anyway, McDo really has a great Marketing team! Actually, when I first saw the TVC I was surprised, giggled, and thought “oh no this is not happening” because that is definitely ‘pun intended’! Hahaha! It was a really nice and ‘swabe’ move for Mcdonald’s though! 😉

We are actually very puzzled of why McDo used Joy for their marketing strategy. I always relate Joy to ChickenJoy. Lol! But, it’s really nice of McDo to give free meals. I just wished I had Joy in my name too! Hahaha!

Lucky for those who are named Joy! But even if I am not named Joy, I would still visit Mcdo most of the time because it is the favorite of my daughter and yes, their chicken is so yummy!

I was surprised by Mcdo’s strategy on using Joy. Hehe. As “joy” is associated to Jollibee when it comes to chicken. I am waiting if Jollibee will be having a counter attack. Hehe.

I find this promo really really cheeky and fun! I’m sure a lot of Joy’s rejoiced haha. Your move, Jollibee! 😀

It’s JOY indeed! Don’t we all love McDo? I crave when I go on weeks without it. And their fries, oh… it was heaven when I was pregnant!
