Mineral Water Bottles With Less Plastic

Posted on by

Clean water is one of the most basic needs of our family. And as our families become active in our lifestyles, working and playing harder, traveling more often, we tend to consume more water to replenish our bodies. And we prefer mineral water. With all the mineral water bottles to throw out, what do you think will happen to our world with all the plastics we need to throw as we continue to increase our mineral water intake.

As a part of their initiative to make the world a cleaner and safer place to live in for families everywhere, Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water made a simple but effective packaging change that would lower their carbon footprint.

Using less plastic, their 500 ml and 300 ml bottles now sport a more streamlined cap that saves almost 380,000 tons of manufactured PET a year. Equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by 2.9 million trees[1], it can also be likened to removing over 80,000 cars[2] from the road for one year.

The initiative is part of Absolute’s campaign, “Pure Water, Pure Love”, helping mothers provide the highest quality of care and love to their families. Says Abe Cipriano, AVP for Marketing, Non-Alcoholic Beverages at Asia Brewery, “Mothers never settle for less when it comes to their families. Just the same, with this simple change, Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water took the step to go green to create great positive impact on the environment, and ultimately, on everyone else.

I agree with Robin, less plastic IS awesome! With all the water we drink in our home, it’s good to know that there is less plastic floating around out there!

We recycle an obscene amount of plastic water bottles at our house, so it’s always great when manufacturers reduce the amount of plastic in the first place.

We all of reusable water bottles with filters in them. We used to buy bottled water and stopped once we noticed how much plastic was being wasted, not too mention the cost!

It’s funny how one great thing (finding a way to get people to really drink more water) can turn into something not so great (all of that plastic). It’s hard to find just the right mix of happy sometimes. This sounds like a step in the right direction. 🙂

I am all for something that uses less plastic. I tend to avoid plastic disposable water bottles altogether, but sometimes, they come in handy for bike rides or trips.

With all the plastic containers and bottles in the world, it’s imperative that we collaborate with companies that are eager to reduce our carbon footprint. I’m glad to read about this smart initiative.
