MIDA Food Celebrates 20 Years As A Leader In The Philippine Seafood Industry

For us moms who cook at home, seafood can be the simplest and yet most delicate ingredient to deal with in the kitchen. Simple yet delicate because there’s only one way we will be able to choose what’s best in the market or grocery where we buy them :  through their freshness.

Pacific Bay Retail Brand

When it comes to fresh seafoods, MIDA Food is the leader. For 20 years, Mida Food Distributors had been leading the seafood industry with its full line of retail seafood specialty items under Pacific Bay brand. It’s highly possible that you’ve already seen Pacific Bay brand shrimps, scallops, and mussels from the grocery. They are not only bigger than what we see in local wet markets, but they are certainly of fresh and premium quality. The Pacific Bay Brand line offers freshly-packed seafood items which include peeled & deveined shrimp, tuna belly, tuna steaks, scallop meat, salmon steaks, whole clams, crabstick, and cream dory fillet, Atlantic cod portions, bacalao loins, Chilean seabass, softshell crab, Gindara steaks and halibut fillet.

The success of Mida Food Distributors is being attributed not only to their seafood stock but also with the relationship they nurture with their partner clients. Their services include menu development, customization of products, and training on food safety, which earned Mida the reputation of a seafood expert. Mida Food’s 20-year history even includes influencing the country’s shrimp industry. They campaigned and won against the ban on importation and culture of “suahe” shrimp and now, the whole country is reaping the benefits.

A Celebratory Night

Last June 15, Mida Food celebrated its 20th anniversary with all its employees, friends and business affiliates inside The Tent of Enderun College, Bonifacio Global City. It was a night to remember aptly entitled “Feast of the Pacific”. It was indeed a feast with the country’s top chef masters as the primary guests of the evening. On stage, they attested how reliable Mida Food is in catering to their needs even on the toughest times. Each one of the chefs came up seafood samplers which represented dishes from the Philipines and other countries. It was a delightful feast for all of us who were to be able to taste the dishes done by these culinary masters.

  1. I love seafood! My Big Bunso must have the same taste as me as he also love prawns, squid, and fish. And I must agree that though simple to prepare, they can be so delicate. That’s the reason as well that we seldom have fish on our table. The market near ours do not serve a wide variety of fish. Anyway, it is good to know that there are packed food ready to be cooked already. I once had a client who is into packaging and he explained the procedure they use in packing those meat and fish, reasurring us of the product’s freshness.

  2. There are a lot of brands nowadays that makes cooking easier for moms. Before, the only seafood that is being sold as frozen item is the cream dory, ngayon there are scallops and mussels na. 🙂
